I am currently at the University of Maryland as a Studio Arts major and am looking to transfer to umbc for graphic design. BUT I am pretty worried about getting in, my GPA is a 2.531 with 58 credits- Should I also mention that I should be at 75 credits by this time? Is there anything that I can do to help my chances? I plan on applying for the Nov. 1st deadline, so there is some time for damage control.. Would an essay explaining my performance help? So all in all what are my chances of getting in? Be straight with me, I can take it. Thanks!

      Jessica,

At UMBC we require transfer students to have about a 2.5 in order to be granted admission. With your credit count we would like to see at least a 2.0 with a good trend. You also must be in good academic standing your last completed semester to be considered.

Hope this helps! Please feel free to e-mail me at kreese1@umbc.edu with any further questions!
